VALENCIA. I am from Hopkins, SC. I don't classify myself as an "artist" anymore. One of my professors explained that there are a variety of "artists" in the world. But we who tell our stories visually are image makers. I've been in love with being an image maker since the age of three. While all of the other kids were playing basketball I would actually get beat up or fussed at for drawing on their court with chalk. I took those beatens and harsh words becuase of my fascination with creativity.
I am now a twenty- two year old second semester Junior at Benedict College in South Carolina. Believe me, I am glad I refused to stop drawing on the court. Thus far I've been introduced to various methods and techniques for creating images. Ther's no one medium that I prefer. As long as my story can be told I will use any material be it charcoal, pastels, oil or acrylic paints, watercolor, ink or graphite.
